My name is Christian Dierschow. I along with Andrea Galitz will be coaching your daughter this Spring Season! I have been involved with SGS as a Coach since 2013. I am a retired Board Member, as well as, the Past President of the SGS Board of Directors, and I am the current 16U Coach at Kishwaukee Valley Storm softball travel club. Coach Galitz and I have worked together for the last 2 seasons within the SGS league. I am looking forward to getting to know the players and families as we get off to a great start here in 2022. Those of you that are familiar with our program know that we will mainly be practing and playing behind the Sycamore Community Pool (access off of RT. 64 around the Golf Course). We will have a couple practices, and some games in different locations. I will be able to communicate those with you after the practice portion of our schedule starts.
I have posted our team practice schedule on the SGS website under our team page. The game schedule will be added to this as well once that is ready to go. Here is a link to that page: https://www.leagueathletics.com/Bulletins.asp?org=sgsball.com
I will use our website and team page as a scheduling tool, and quick communication in the event that a practice or game would need to be cancelled/postponed due to weather. Please be sure to have your family account updated with the proper information so you receive all the notifications that the system sends out. Please send me back either an email or personal text, so I know you have received this introduction email. My personal info is at the bottom of this email.
I am looking to hold our first practice on Tuesday, April 5th, starting at 6 PM on Field 15. I will hold a brief parents meeting at the beginning of practice to hand out some paperwork and go over any questions anyone may have.
Every player needs to provide their own glove, and a fielders protective face guard. If you are unsure what a fielders protective face guard is, here is a link to see about those: https://www.dickssportinggoods.com/f/softball-face-guards
Many players tend to have their own batting helmets, and bats as well, but SGS will provide helmets and bats for those that need them. Please let me know ahead of the first practice, if your daughter will need a SGS provided helmet and/or bat.
Please be sure to save my phone number and email address listed here at the bottom. My phone is always on, so please do not hesitate to reach out if you ever have any questions or concerns. I look forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday, April 5th!
